Memoir Writing, Tutoring, and Workshops
Through my LLC, “Memoir Mentors,” I work with writers at every stage of their memoir journey—whether you’re beginning a first draft or shaping a manuscript into its final form.
I offer:
• Thoughtfully facilitated group workshops (virtual and in-person)
• One-on-one tutoring and editorial mentorship
• Comprehensive manuscript review and developmental feedback
• Weekend writing retreats in inspiring locations
• Craft-driven online courses for writers ready to go deeper
These offerings build on eighteen years of teaching experience at Stanford University, where I’ve guided hundreds of writers through the vulnerable, powerful process of telling their stories with clarity, confidence, and heart.
Since 2019, I’ve led memoir experiences in Aspen, Colorado; Olema, California; Sun Valley, Idaho; and at the Djerassi Resident Artists Program—gathering writers in beautiful, generative spaces to do the deep work that memoir invites.
My teaching blends structure and surprise, rigor and warmth. It’s animated by a simple belief: Your story matters. Community deepens the work. And you don’t have to write it alone.
